Terex Side loader FAQ

Q. What side loader experience does Terex have?

The Terex factory in Italy has been producing side loaders for over 40 years; indeed the Fantuzzi models can be found working through the world.

Q. What about parts and service for side loaders?

We have a dedicated parts and distribution centre located in Manchester which is also home to our technical team.

Q. What is the smallest and largest side loader that Fantuzzi  makes?

The range starts at 3 tons and goes all the way through to 55tons.

Q. Do you only make diesel side loaders?

No we make LPG and 80 volt electric side loaders up to 6 tons. Although we have made special 34 ton electrics!

Q. What are some of the unique selling features of the side loader?

  • Very, very robust chassis, formed where possible for incredible strength. Around 30% less welds than some competitors.
  • Extremely strong mast designed which manufactured for side loaders using Fantuzzi’s unique patented design. Side loaders continuously work with heavy lateral stress’s (i.e. long loads) many of our competitors use a fork lift truck mast, which is obviously cheaper to produce but has been design for different stress purposes. The mast should not be under estimated, with the Fantuzzi it is not an issue, it is certainly not a cost centre, with many of competitors it is a big cost centre.
  • Reliability and cost of operation. Many of our dealers have a great deal of experience running side loaders on contract many have run different manufactures side by side. They tell us that the Fantuzzi beats our competitors “hands down” in terms of reliability and cost of maintenance. In fact on many contracts we have been told that the Fantuzzi five year costs are half our competitors.

Q. Many side loaders only lift their rated capacity to 4000mm some to only 3700mm, at what height does the Fantuzzi loose capacity?

A. The Fantuzzi unit lifts its full rated capacity to 4500mm without detration this includes the 6 ton unit.

Q. What is the standard lift height?

4000mm. Masts increase in size by 500mm sections.
